After millions of years, what remains of dinosaurs are giant skeletons and ancient fossils.

This skeleton belongs to a T-Rex dinosaur named Sue. It is about 67 million years old. Since 2000, Sue’s skeleton has been exhibited in many cities around the world. In the photo, Sue’s skeleton at a museum in Washington, USA. Photo: Mark Wilson/Newsmakers.

T-Rex (tyrannosaurs) lived in the late Cretaceous period. This is a carnivorous animal, walking on two legs. It ate many other dinosaurs and carrion. According to researchers, T-Rex’s bite force is stronger than most land animals. In the photo, Naturalis Anne Schulp, a paleontologist, is reconstructing the skeleton of a T-Rex named Trix. Microraptor is one of the smallest dinosaurs in the world. Their body length is about 42-83 cm and weight is only about 1 kg. This species cannot fly but has feathers. Their fossils are found in many places in Liaoning, China. Photo: Spencer Platt.

About 66 million years ago, a giant asteroid crashed into the shallow sea near Mexico. The impact created a crater 145 km wide. This disaster destroyed the ecosystem of the Earth and killed almost all the dinosaurs. Some small branches of flying dinosaurs survived and became the birds they are today. Each footprint is about 1.2 meters in diameter. According to researchers, long-necked dinosaurs have lived in this area since about 140 million years ago. They weigh up to 30 tons and are about 27 meters long. Photo: Alexander Koerner.
