8/5/24 UPDATE: Miami Dolphins Orange Jersey Award TRACKER

August 6, 2024

The Miami Dolphins were in a precarious position just a few short weeks ago regarding their EDGE rushing unit.

Offseason signing Shaq Barrett abruptly announced his retirement. Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips remained out of practice due to late season injuries in 2023. Rookies Chop Robinson and Mo Kamara were still acclimating to NFL life.

Insert 28-year-old journeyman Quinton Bell.

Bell, a darling of last season’s Hard Knocks television program, joined the Dolphins’ practice squad in October of last year. He immediately became a favorite of coaches and teammates alike.

Recently, he’s been turning heads during this offseason down in Miami Gardens. He’s making the most of his opportunity, by all accounts.

On Monday, Bell was awarded the team’s orange jersey award given to the previous practice session’s best performer.

Will he continue to shine during joint practices with the Atlanta Falcons this week? If he does, and he plays well during Dolphins preseason games, Bell could find himself on Miami’s 53 man roster to start the season, which would be a pleasant surprise to Dolphins fans around the world.
