The so-called ‘Eye of the Sahara’, or ‘Richat Structure’, is located in the south of the Sahara Desert, between Morocco and Mauritania. It is a structure formed by perfectly concentric ridges and valleys, over 40 kilometres wide, with a small island in the centre. It is a unique structure on planet Earth. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the world. It is certainly not man-made, as it is immense. It is ‘supposed’ to be of natural origin, but no one today has been able to give a convincing explanation as to how it was formed. In fact, the objection is deadly: why, in some 4.5 billion years of the Earth’s life, did this structure of over 40 kilometres, built from a circle of concentric centres and a central ‘island’, only form here? What is so special about this spot on the Earth? No geologist can answer this question.…The first to speak of this structure was Plato, referring to the so-called ‘Sacred Island’ of Atlantis. According to his account. A ‘god’, Poseidon, created the series of concentric rings around the central islet. Thus a series of ‘sea rings’ and ‘land rings’ were created around a central islet. According to the tale they served as protection for possible invaders who, strangely enough, “were unable to swim”. According to the tale, it was only much later that humans built their homes on those lands, taking advantage of the incredible ‘natural’ structures they found there. Over the centuries, according to the tale, a city was born. But the Eye of the Sahara contained water some 5,000 years before Plato was born. Later, due to the drying up of the Sahara, it became completely barren as you can see in the picture. Moreover, due to its enormous extension, over 40 km, the various circles are only visible from very high altitudes, or from space. How was Plato aware of this in his day? Something doesn’t add up…
