Chiefs News: Watch Travis Kelce Hilariously Take Over Mic at White House Ceremony

June 2, 2024

The Kansas City Chiefs made their trip to the White House on Friday to celebrate winning the Super Bowl. It has become almost an annual tradition for this franchise of late, having won three Super Bowls in the last five years. The Chiefs have dominated the NFL world in recent times, becoming the envy of every other team around the league.

During the trip, Kansas City gave President Joe Biden an honorary Chiefs helmet. Teams normally give out a jersey as well, marking the celebration with the Commander in Chief. During his speech, President Biden decided to call up Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to the podium. Kelce, of course, took this chance to do what he does best and take over in a hilarious way.

Kelce had some jokes for President Biden during the trip after the President called him up to the podium.

“My fellow Americans, it’s nice to see you all yet again. I’m not going to lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here, I’d get tased so I’m going back to my spot alright,” Kelce joked.

With all the news surrounding Kelce in recent months, President Biden had to bring him up. Kelce has been dating music superstar Taylor Swift since the start of the last football season, adding more viewership and intrigue to the game than usual. The relationship has become one of the highly talked-about moments from this past NFL season and it has continued to draw attention.

The two make a power couple together, with Swift being one of the few people who can claim to be more famous than Kelce himself. The three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end has embraced this and not allowed it to get in the way of his success on the field. He was a big reason why Kansas City won the Super Bowl again this season and will be a big part of their three-peat quest next year.

Kelce will be a Hall of Famer whenever he retires, with opposing coaches such as Baltimore Ravens John Harbaugh hoping that it happens sooner rather than later.

“I hope they get married,” Harbaugh said in a recent interview with Daniel Trainor of Us Weekly. “I hope they have a bunch of kids. Heck, maybe he’ll get ready to retire here pretty soon to pursue that family aspect of his life. I would encourage that.”

This moment at the White House generally sums up who Kelce is at his core, just a fun-loving guy who is great at football. It seemed to make for a great moment at one of the iconic places in the United States and Kelce will be hoping for a third straight return next year.
