Report: Ravens hosting tryout for standout D.C. Defenders edge rusher
According to Pro Football Newsroom’s James Larsen, the Baltimore Ravens are hosting former Villanova defensive end Malik Fisher next week during minicamp.
NEWS: The Baltimore Ravens will be hosting DE Malik Fisher for a workout on Monday, per source.
Fisher was an absolute star for the @XFLDefenders this #UFL season, with 33 tackles, 7 TFL’s, 7 sacks, & 3 PBU’s. Tremendous athlete who showed plenty of growth this year. pic.twitter.com/AjFxSJu9iT

For the past two seasons, Fisher’s dominated for the D.C. Defenders in the United Football League. In their 10-game season, Fisher finished with 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss and seven sacks, including a strip-sack recovered by Fisher. His seven sacks were tied for second-most in the UFL.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Anthony Miller, Fisher’s performance was snubbed from the All-UFL Team.
“If the league wanted to include the best pass rushers, they missed defensive end Malik Fisher who harassed quarterbacks all season,” Miller wrote. “Fisher finished tied for second in the league in sacks with seven while adding 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three pass breakups. While Houston Roughnecks pass rusher Chris Odom had a good season, Fisher was more efficient and should have been selected.”
Prior to his two seasons with the Defenders, Fisher played college football at Villanova from 2017-2021. He started in 42 games and finished his senior season with 51 tackles, four sacks and an interception.
