In today’s Dub Hub:

Kevon Looney has been an integral player for the Golden State Warriors these past couple of years. Last season, however, he saw his role diminish, averaging just 16.1 minutes per game (his lowest in five seasons) as the deficiencies of the roster called for a more dynamic big man starting next to Draymond Green. Next season, Looney is determined to change that, telling Green on the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show that he wants to adjust his game to fit the ever-changing play style of the modern day NBA.

For more on this and other news around the NBA, here is our latest news round-up for Tuesday, June 11th:

Iguodala offers level-headed take on Warriors vs. ‘04 Pistons debate | NBC Sports Bay Area

Iguodala then went on to explain that the real advantage the Warriors would have in a theoretical game against the Pistons would be the depth on the bench, with Golden State having a raft of talented players that could adapt to any situation.

“You don’t really hear too much about our bench and the stuff we did so Shaun Livingston, myself, [Leandro] Barbosa like we had so many interesting lineups and then they keep forgetting about Zaza [Pachulia],” Iguodala explained. “In terms of like his toughness, so Zaza would have been a great matchup for the Pistons. And JaVale [McGee] actually was really good for us. They think about the core which is what you should think about but we had a really good bench.”

How intense Draymond-Kerr fight helped Looney come out of his shell NBC Sports Bay Area

“People really want to win, the fight to win. And I see y’all sit together, it made me feel comfortable. I feel like I was with my guys, like, ‘These my type of dudes right here’ … I felt really comfortable and came out of my shell a little bit.”

For as serious as the incident might have appeared to those outside the Warriors’ locker room, Looney still can’t help but laugh at the scene that unfolded.

“That was one of the funniest things I’ve been a part of,” Looney added. “Sitting next to [Marreese] Speights and everybody trying to calm everybody down, I couldn’t help myself from laughing. It was a serious moment, but hearing Klay [Thompson] in the background telling Draymond [to] ‘relax’ … that was one of the funniest things I’ve been a part of.”

Dan Hurley’s rejection stings, but pain doesn’t have to linger for Lakers | ESPN

Let’s get this out of the way: The Los Angeles Lakers are a little embarrassed.

They got turned down very publicly by their crush, and that carries pain whether you’re a junior high student or a multibillion-dollar international megabrand.

But the Lakers have been here before. Dan Hurley passing on their head-coaching job to remain at the University of Connecticut shouldn’t be a catastrophe for Jeanie Buss, Rob Pelinka & Co. It should be a reality check.

NBA Finals Film Study: Celtics win Doncic-Tatum matchups in Game 2 victory over Mavericks | NBA

While Tatum hasn’t shot well in the first two games, he probably leads the Finals in creating advantages, either drawing two to the ball or driving by his defender in 1-on-1 situations. And he’s trusted his teammates, all of which have been able to make shots or make plays.

On the other end of the floor, the Celtics showed more help on Doncic in Game 2. But the players they left open – Jones, Josh Green and Maxi Kleber – weren’t able to make them pay.

If that doesn’t change in Dallas, this will be a very short series.
