Klay Thompson’s legendary run with the Golden State Warriors is set to come to an end. After 13 seasons with the Warriors, Thompson will reportedly join the Dallas Mavericks on a new three-year, $50 million contract.

Before Thompson can join Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the Lone Star State, the Mavericks and Warriors needed to agree to terms on a sign-and-trade. In a multi-team sign-and-trade, the Charlotte Hornets reportedly received Josh Green from Dallas, while the Warriors would receive draft compensation from Dallas.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Warriors will receive two second-round picks in the sign-and-trade.

The Warriors will also pick up a traded player exception worth just under $16 million that they can use in a future move. The pair of first-round picks are reportedly Dallas’ in 2031 and the least favorable between Philadelphia and Denver in 2025.
