It’s the dead season. With just a few weeks remaining before teams begin traveling to their training camp destinations — which for the Cowboys is Oxnard, CA — things are a little slow. And while the back-and-forth isn’t anywhere approaching beef levels it does make for an interesting Saturday read when two NFLers such as Cole Beasley and CeeDee Lamb exchange tweets in disagreement with each other.

On Friday afternoon, an innocous tweet showing Lamb’s training, which he’s doing while staying away from the Dallas Cowboys in a contract holdout, drew the former slot receiver out share his take that Lamb was doing unnecessary work. Lamb replied and there was soon an exchange where stats were being thrown out.

Blogging the Boys’ Brandon Loree posted the original video from Alkeme Sports’ Doctor Reef’s instragram post.

Beasley’s “Man ust do some heavy squats and power cleans….” is him saying that Lamb isn’t training correctly, which is pretty wild considering how good Lamb has been in his first four years in the league.

Beasley interacts with fans who aren’t exactly enamored with his chiming in. Included in the responses is this QT which led to Beasley going back in QT mode.

Now here’s where things start to go sideways. Beasley’s response seems to take a shot at the number of times Lamb was targeted as being the reason for his numbers. Choosing that number is symbolic as Lamb had 181 targets in 2023, his first year with over 160 of them.

And that’s what caught Lamb’s attention and earned his response. And for anyone who wants to minimize this, fee free, just know that Lamb hasn’t tweeted since January 7.
