Day 1 Cowboys training camp highlights, observations, news and notes
The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their 2024 training camp on Thursday, with their opening press conference followed by their first practice. Head coach Mike McCarthy allowed during the presser that this practice would more resemble an OTA session than a summer practice, which is always fine as players look to get re-acclimated to the rigors of the football field.
The team, of course without holdout receiver CeeDee Lamb, will look to find its footing sooner rather than later, knowing there’s not much regular season success can do to ease the malaise surrounding the organization. The front office spent almost the entire press conference answering questions about the contract situations with Lamb, quarterback Dak Prescott and edge rusher Micah Parsons. It was good to finally move past that, even if temporarily, and actually see football activities.
Here’s a look at some highlights and observations, shared on Twitter, from those in attendance and following along.
