7/29/24 UPDATE: Miami Dolphins Orange Jersey Award TRACKER

The Miami Dolphins kicked off the work week on the practice fields of Miami Gardens on Monday — this time in pads for the first time all training camp.

While most players wore aqua or white jerseys, one player was recognized for his stellar practice yesterday with the brightly colored threads of the orange jersey award. That player was the new alpha dog in the defensive tackle room — Zach Sieler!

Sieler continues the defense’s dominance when it comes to the orange jersey award this year. In fact, of the 13 recipients so far, 9 of them have come from the defensive side of the football. Of course, until his recent contract extension, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s participation was capped, so that may have caused the pendulum to swing in a particular direction.

Sieler’s longtime running mate, Christian Wilkins, departed South Florida for a lucrative contract with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, so Sieler’s role will likely expand despite the idea that new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver’s system will use a heavy rotation of defensive linemen. Sieler — a consummate professional — will undoubtedly be up to the task.
