LeBron James’ new style of play compared to one of the NBA’s biggest legends
It is true, LeBron James‘ game has evolved over the years to a point where he’s become more generous with his teammates. The old LeBron loved taking full control of the game and was always there for the poster photo. Over the years, age has caught up to him but that doesn’t mean his game has declined in any way. Quite the opposite, we find a version of LeBron James who is very similar to some of the best passers the game has ever seen. During these Olimpic Games, James delivered some of the most beautiful dimes in the entire tournament and left with a Gold Medal around his neck plus the Olympic Games MVP Award. Not bad for a player who is already pushing 40, huh?
LeBron James is compared to Magic Johnson
If you are going to compare LeBron James’ game to someone right now, the possibilities become barrow as he no longer has that explosiveness but he still keeps that elegant style of play. He can see a pass where no one else can, he even does a lot of no-look passes that drive fans crazy. Who does that remind you of? Former NBA champion Michael Cooper has the perfect idea of which NBA legend LeBron James’ current game can be compared to. Speaking to Scoop Rario, Cpper said: “He reminds me of Magic when he came back from retirement. LeBron still has athleticism but is not at the level we’re used to seeing. But he still has the knowledge and smarts.”
The difference here is that Magic Johnson was playing this elegant Globe Trotter style of game since he was a teenager and he never stopped. Whereas James warmed up to that style and we got the best version of that style during the previous Olympic Games. Not that he can’t dunk the ball anymore, we simply see him moving forward more as a game organizer than a scorer. After all, he already surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record and all he has left is to keep enjoying the game next to his son Bronny during these final years.
Vocês conhecem algum jogador, que dificultava a forma de jogar, unicamente por preferir o entretenimento alheio?
Magic Johnson era esse jogador, seu jogo era alegre e sempre inusitado.
