‘No Doubt!’: Cowboys CeeDee Lamb Predicts Dak Prescott Contract
Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb signed a massive four-year, $136 million extension earlier this week.
Lamb missed the whole of training camp, but will now begin preparing for the season.
Dallas’ next point of focus should be the contract extension of quarterback Dak Prescott who is entering the final year of his existing deal.
On Tuesday, Lamb spoke to the media and he was asked about Prescott and his future with the team.
“You look at our numbers together, they’re at the top of the charts,” Lamb said.
“I have no doubt that they’re gonna get a deal done. We all know that I want Dak here. Jerry wants Dak here too, so let’s just get this under control and kill the speculation.”
Prescott is on the verge of a financial windfall that will literally set his family up for generations.
If Prescott and the Cowboys don’t get an agreement done before the season starts, it may have to wait.
The problem then becomes, what if Prescott goes out and duplicates the numbers from last year?
The price is presumably only going to go up.
With the contracts that quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence and Jordan Love have signed this offseason, Prescott’s projected deal could be worth reportedly over $60-65 million per season.
At the end of the day, as Cowboys COO Stephen Jones likes to say, Dallas is at a crossroads, and it’s up to them to figure out which direction to go because Prescott is going to get paid either way.
