The Miami Dolphins are off to a 1-1 start after a nail biting win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and a frustrating loss to the Buffalo Bills.  However, the question of who will be their long-term quarterback has been the biggest story out of Miami over the last few days.

QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered yet another major concussion, calling into question his future in this league.  Now his mother has spoken out about the topic.

Tua’s mother has made her decision on what she wants her son to do regarding his career:

Following the Buffalo Bills’ Thursday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins, a lot of the discourse around the NFL has been related to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after he suffered a serious concussion in the second half.

While reports are stating that Tagovailoa has no plans to retire after suffering his third-known concussion in as many years, his mother reportedly has her own thoughts.

According to reports, Tagovailoa’s mother, Diane, is pushing for her son to hang up his cleats and retire from football.

Considering his mother simply wants the best for her son’s long-term mental health, this isn’t a surprise. Tagovailoa, however, is still seeking medical advice on when he can return to play, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport:

“Tua Tagovailoa has no plans to retire,” said Rapoport. “He’s already begun seeing concussion specialists and will continue to do so, but there is no timeline to return. Tua will be back when he and his doctors deem him healthy and ready.”
