A curious artifact was unearthed in the foundation of the Egyptian royal Hyksos complex.

We owe a debt of gratitude to Manfred Bietak, who coordinated the efforts of the Austrian Archaeology Institute and the Austrian Academy of Science to assist us in piecing together the details of this mission.

The whispers of the mysterious mounds outside the complex piqued his interest. His training as an archaeologist led him to want to investigate more.

16 total The official study claims that none of the mounds are younger than 3,600 years old, and that no giant hands were found inside them.

Manfred was on the hunt for Avaris, but his discovery may prove to be just as intriguing.

This new finding demonstrated that Egyptian warriors often severed the limbs of their enemies, thereby decapitating them.

In spite of popular belief, ancient Egyptians were not the enlightened aristocrats we like to assume they were. Their kingdom expanded so rapidly because of their brutality.
