Getting a wax figure at Madame Tussauds is a big deal if you’re an athlete, celebrity, or a famous person. The prestigious 188-year-old wax museum is iconic for its wax figures of famous and influential people. Dwayne The Rock Johnson has had the privilege of having his likeness immortalized in wax forever. But what has been The Great One’s journey from the squared circle to the life-size wax icon?
Madame Tussauds was founded in 1835 and is home to immortalizing world-famous people and icons.
Dwayne Johnson’s globe-trotting wax journey
Johnson is among the biggest stars in the WWE. Despite there being many popular stars in the company’s history, none have come close to the global fame Johnson achieved. Thanks to his movies and entrepreneurship, Johnson is a household name while not being an active part of WWE anymore.
Very few wrestlers have achieved the level of success Johnson has. To solidify that he is the best WWE has ever produced, he is the only wrestler with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds. The esteemed wax museum deemed him worthy to create and display not one but nine wax figures.
Yes, with the recent release of four new statues in 2022, the total number is up to nine. Not all statues are the same; each has its own theme and symbolizes an aspect of Johnson’s life. The “Movie Star” Rock is at the museum in Hollywood, California, while “The People’s Champ” Rock is at the museum in New York City. His Hollywood “Action Icon” Rock is featured at the Orlando museum, and the “Founder of Teremana Tequila” Rock is at the Las Vegas museum.

The Rock’s Berlin sculpture has a floral silk suit he wore for the world premiere of Jumanji: The Next Level. In Amsterdam, the wax figure wears a cerise pink dinner jacket Johnson wore during the UK opening of the same film.
In Dubai, the figure features the powder blue suit worn at the New York premiere of Skyscraper. The Rock has two more statues one in London and another in Hong Kong. These are excellent attractions for WWE fans. However, they were all not perfect.
The skin tone debacle at the Paris museum
The Musée Grévin in Paris featured another wax statue of The Great One. However, it soon made headlines for how bad it looked.
Johnson himself took to social media and said that his team would contact the museum. He wanted them to make improvements to the statue, starting out with his skin color, which was more whiteish than required.
