Bogdan Bogdanovic’s explanation for why Nikola Jokic hasn’t talked to media at the Olympics was so unsurprising

Team Serbia hero Nikola Jokic doesn’t actually hate being an NBA superstar as his main livelihood, the way a famous TikTok suggests. The only thing he likely loves more than playing basketball with his closest friends on the Denver Nuggets and Serbia is his adoring family.

But Jokic really does hate one part of being the best basketball player in the world — having to talk to the media after roughly every NBA game.

According to Serbian teammate and Atlanta Hawks sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic, Jokic is taking heavy advantage of more relaxed Paris Olympic media rules.

And is anyone surprised?

Let’s consider this more deeply.

Jokic doesn’t like talking to the media during the NBA season, but that part of his life has at least made him an extremely wealthy multimillionaire. He will at least go through the motions there. He plays for Serbian national pride in the Olympics, but it’s technically all unpaid. It’s essentially an extended summer job, a little side quest for a basketball superstar.

So of course Jokic won’t do the one part of his NBA job he truly loathes for an entire Olympic cycle. As Bogdanovic said, “no offense.”
