Another Cooper, another competition. The Cowboys have no problem shaking things up when it comes to their 53-man roster. Despite being the primary backup to Prescott the entire offseason, regular season and brief postseason for the last several years, Rush wasn’t even on every initial roster. In 2022, he served as the backup from the practice squad, being elevated the first few weeks of the season to save roster space.

Is Trey Lance ready to make Dallas completely part ways with Prescott’s right-hand man? Could Lance make the roster, Rush not, but the latter still serve as the primary in-game backup? There’s a bunch of questions to be answered as all three quarterbacks are on the final years of their deals.
