WWE superstar Ava appears to be getting a new role after the breakdown of the Schism.

The 22-year-old wrestler, whose father is wrestling and Hollywood icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has been following in her dad’s footsteps by becoming a fourth generation star for the company but now she could have a fresh direction.

Ava, real name Simone Johnson, was part of the creepy cult group Schism for much of her run in NXT until Grizzled Young Veterans quit WWE leading to Joe Gacy dissolving the faction.

On this week’s show, Ava was spotted heading into Shawn Michaels’ office and when she was asked why, her answer shed some light on potential plans for her in the near future.

‘We’re four days away from Deadline and things are out of control over here. You saw what happened in the trainer’s room! Roxanne Perez and Kiana James cannot keep their hands off of each other,’ she said.

‘So, it’s official. This Saturday at Deadline, Kiana and Roxanne will finally settle their differences in a Steel Cage Match.’

The fact that Ava seemingly spoke to the Heartbreak Kid – who is the real life and on screen boss for NXT – and was able to make the bout official suggests she could be positioned as an authority figure herself with just six matches to her name.

‘Ava Raine could be the general manager for NXT #WWENXT,’ wrote one viewer, as another simply asked: ‘Is Ava working with Shawn Michaels? #WWENXT’

Others wondered if she would be a GM in her own right, or serve as ‘HBK’s second in command’, while a different fan added: ‘So Ava is basically the #WWENXT Women’s Division enforcer? I kinda like it.’

‘Is @avawwe_ going to be the authority figure in the women’s division,’ pondered someone else, adding: ‘I mean I wouldn’t mind #WWENXT’

The interesting development comes after Ava previously teased the possibility of joining Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in The Bloodline, which has family ties to her dad The Rock.

Back in October, a video showed her in a room speaking to Paul Heyman, who is a central figure the faction, and while fans couldn’t make out what was being said, the so-called Wiseman had ‘The Bloodline’ written on his phone case.

Although she still hasn’t gone into detail on their conversation, at the time Ava simply tweeted: ‘good chat @HeymanHustle (sic)’
