After retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles, Jason Kelce is now doing what he loves most. The former center is now spending a lot of time with his family. So, it came to no one’s surprise that he was always going to back Kylie Kelce in all her pursuits. Whether it be through appearing in charity events or having to run for a good cause, the future of Hall of Famer has done it throughout his first months of retirement. He also went out to support his wife amid her comments about the tacky nature of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker.

Kylie Kelce was frustrated with the Chiefs kicker after his controversial commencement speech. His brother-in-law who has also been with Harrison Butker under Andy Reid along with the Eagles legend agreed with her. Obviously, this made some individuals whose opinions differ from Jason Kelce very livid. Some of them went on to blast him publicly through posts on X.

The recently retired Eagles center had quite enough of these statements. He doubled down on his support for Kylie Kelce.

“Responding to this, because I have seen a number of people say it. I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals who are figuring it out on the daily. The only expectation is that we love each other, support one another, and are committed to our family, that comes first. We both raise our kids, and we both work. We both keep our home. It is both our fault it is messy, but such is life with 3 young children, busy schedules, and neither of us being neat freaks. She also makes a mean sandwich,” Jason Kelce said.

The two have been married for six years. It all started when the then-Eagles center met her at a bar before passing out on their first date. Eventually, their love grew. They now have three daughters who need full-time attention from their parents growing up. This could also be a big reason why the center had to retire.

“If being a homemaker, works for some, and that’s what they want, then hell yeah, that’s awesome, more power to you. I want to be clear, I’m not downplaying that at all, but that is not our family dynamic,” he concluded.

What did the Chiefs kicker say?

A lot of the backlash has been about Harrison Butker’s statement about women in her life, most especially his wife. The exact words drew a lot of reactions and even prompted the NFL to say that these do not reflect their league’s values.

I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother… I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker,” he said.

These very same comments got some raised eyebrows from his Chiefs teammates, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
