Former Golden State Warrior Dario Šarić signs with the Denver Nuggets
This afternoon, former Warriors big man Dario Šarić signed a 2-year, $10.6 million deal with the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets were the only NBA team reported to be interested in Šarić, beating out Greek club Panathinaikos according to a report by Sportando from earlier this week.
During the 2023-24 All-Star festivities in Indiana, Nuggets center and three-time MVP Nikola Jokić ranked the Homie on his all-European starting five, beating out other superstar big men like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert, so in a sense, we should have seen this coming. Šarić and Jokić have been friends since early in their careers.
The Warriors are still an exceptionally small team, and with the loss of Šarić this offseason paired with drafting Boston College big man Quenten Post, it’s clear that they’re targeting younger big men rather than trying to lure in existing talent. Either way, Šarić was a known Warrior-killer in his four years playing for the Phoenix Suns, so it’ll be interesting to see what the Warriors have learned by playing alongside him.
