Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James recently appeared on famous content creator Kai Cenat’s livestream, though he may not have known that was what he was going to do when he answered Kevin Hart‘s call.

Cenat was joined by comedians Kevin Hart and Druski on the stream, where Hart decided to contact James via FaceTime. The Lakers superstar answered the call.

To Hart’s credit, the Lakers star immediately answered the call, and Cenat almost instantly began telling Hart to show LeBron the view count.

The recording had roughly 700,000 concurrent viewers at the time of the call.

Hart then held up his phone to the camera, where James was visible to everyone watching the stream and made sure he said hello to all the fans tuning in. Right after this, Druski and Cenat began laughing over a joke in the background while Hart began a funny conversation with James.

Hart asked, “What time do you play?” The Lakers star went along with his joke, replying, “They haven’t sent me the schedule yet.” Druski chimed in, “He’s playing? It’s the Finals, Bron’s playing?” Hart responded, “He’s LeBron James! Of course he’s in the Finals.” James finished off the jokes with, “Of course I’m playing, uh, Game 8.”

With the Lakers’ 2023-24 campaign having come to an end after the team crashed out of the playoffs in the first round against the Denver Nuggets, all eyes are on LeBron James. He has a player option in his deal for the 2024-25 campaign, so he could conceivably opt out of his deal to hit the open market.

There’s been tons of speculation surrounding James and what his decision could end up being, which is part of the reason why the Lakers ongoing search for a new head coach has drawn so much attention. Los Angeles is obviously hoping James will opt into his player option and not hit the open market, but when discussing the situation, his agent Rich Paul recently referred to his top client as a free agent, indicating that he could be planning on declining his option.

While it may have been a simple mistake on Paul’s end, this comment cannot be totally ignored. As of right now, James isn’t a free agent, so could this be a sign that he is planning on opting out of his deal to test the waters of free agency? Only time will tell, but as right now, it seems like this could actually be what he ends up doing.

Even though he is set to enter his age 40 season next year, James would have no shortage of suitors should he hit the open market.
