NFL future odds: Miami Dolphins running backs Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane prop bets 2024

The Miami Dolphins enter the 2024 season with a dynamic offense that can attack in many ways. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the league in passing yards last year and could be in position to do it again this season. Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were both 1,000-yard receivers last season, and the team added veteran Odell Beckham, Jr., in free agency. In the backfield, running backs Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane are poised to provide Miami with a dynamic duo of runners, bolstering a high-powered offense with another attack option throughout the year.

How will each of those players perform in 2024? The oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook have provided their stat total projections for the season. Tagovailoa’s passing yards and touchdowns and the trio of wide receiver receiving yards and touchdowns have already been in focus, which brings the running backs to the forefront today.

Mostert was selected to his first Pro Bowl following the 2023 season as he topped 1,000 yards for the first time and led the league in rushing touchdowns. Achane added 800 yards on an average of 7.8 yards per carry in his rookie season, while only playing 11 games. How will they do in 2024?

Raheem Mostert rushing yards: 700.5

Over: -110
Under: -110

2023: 1,012

The oddsmakers do not seem to think the Dolphins will stick to the running game in 2024, with Mostert dropping from over 1,000 yards to just 700 this season. If that drop were mirrored by an increase in Achane’s stats, it could be a sign the Dolphins were moving to their second-year running back as the primary rusher, but, as below shows, that pairing does not happen. Does Mostert see this fall-off for 2024?

Poll

Will Raheem Mostert finish 2024 over or under 700.5 yards?

De’Von Achane rushing yards: 750.5

Over: -110
Under: -110

2023: 800

Achane moves past Mostert in rushing yards, according to these projections, but not by a lot. Do the Dolphins have a pass-first, pass-often, pass-only type of offense this season, essentially abandoning the run? Will Achane (or Mostert) break out and put these projections well behind them by the end of the season?

Poll

Will De’Von Achane finish 2024 over or under 750.5 yards?

Raheem Mostert rushing touchdowns: 8.5

Over: +105
Under: -125

2023: 18 (league leader)

Another big drop-off for Mostert. Prior to the 2023 season, Mostert had more than three rushing touchdowns in a season just once, an eight-touchdown performance in 2019 with the San Francisco 49ers. Was 2023 a one-off type of year? Can the now 32-year-old back up his league-leading performance with another strong season?

Poll

Will Raheem Mostert finish 2024 over or under 8.5 rushing touchdowns?

De’Von Achane rushing touchdowns: 7.5

Over: +100
Under: -125

2023: 18

In just 11 games played, Achane eclipsed the 7.5 rushing touchdowns mark in 2023. This again feels like the oddsmakers are not expecting the Dolphins to run the ball effectively in 2024. Can Achane find the endzone at least eight times in his sophomore season?

Poll

Will De’Von Achane finish 2024 over or under 7.5 rushing touchdowns?
