Shock with the ‘terrifying’ secret from the two largest mummification workshops in Egypt
Two mummies dating back more than 2,300 years reveal secrets and information that are unknown today.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, two mummies were discovered and excavated this time, the two largest and most complete workshops ever. One workshop is used to embalm human corpses, the other specializes in embalming animals.
Both mummies are dated to be built around the end of the XXX dynasty (380 BC to 343 BC) and the beginning of the Ptolemaic Kingdom period ruled by Alexander III of Macedon (Alexandre the Great), ie 332 BC.
According to Heritage Daily, the ancient Egyptians believed that mummification was a way of helping the dead to be reborn after a while. Excavations from mummies will reveal some useful information. Unearthed things will show that gaining ‘eternal life’ will have various prices. It is up to the pocket to choose technology, not everyone is mummified in the same way.
The mummification workshop excavated this time is a rectangular building built of mud bricks with many chambers inside. Each room at the workshop has a bed up to 2m long and 1m wide. Inside the workshop are a number of other objects such as tools, ceremonial vessels, linen and black plastic used for embalming.
Not too different from the human mummification workshop, the animal embalming workshop also has a similar shape with the lobby and central entrance lined with limestone. Inside are still ceramic vases and a few animal remains as well as other tools.
These two mummies show two ornate tombs. A man of the 18th Dynasty (circa 1,400 BC) named Menjebu, is noted as the priestess of the goddess Qadesh.
The other tomb belongs to “Ni-Hesbast-Pa” from the 5th Dynasty (circa 2,400 BC), holding important administrative and religious titles, hailed as “priest of the gods” God”.
