Should Klay Thompson be upset with Warriors pursuit of Paul George?
The Golden State Warriors are rumored to be interested in acquiring Paul George. The veteran forward is expected to opt out of his player option for next season, which would see him enter unrestricted free agency on Sunday (June 30). Golden State’s pursuit of George could potentially spell the end of Klay Thompson’s tenure with the franchise.
In a recent episode of the “Club 520 Podcast,” former NBA guard Jeff Teague noted how Thompson should be annoyed with the Warrior’s pursuit of George, especially as they haven’t begun to negotiate with Thompson over a potential contract to remain in the Bay Area.
Thompson is rumored to be attracting interest from the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder. As such, the Warriors could potentially lose their four-time champion in the coming days or weeks.
