When Perry Ellis International announced Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had become a brand ambassador for the apparel company on Sept. 26, a clothing line in conjunction with the former Alabama All-American planned for 2024 was included in the news.
That line of apparel, Always Ready with Tua, has now arrived.
“This collection captures the essence of my journey and diverse cultural influences,” Tagovailoa said in a release from the company. “With Perry Ellis, we crafted a versatile wardrobe celebrating island life for the modern man.”
Perry Ellis International describes the collection of shirts, pants and suits as “a vibrant palette reminiscent of lush tropics and turquoise waters, balanced with crisp whites and earthy neutrals for relaxed escapism. Taking cues from Samoan palm weaving, it features distinctive patterns and textures woven into lightweight, breathable fabrics.”
Tagovailoa is a native of Hawaii. In his three seasons at Alabama, he played in two CFP national-championship games and famously rallied the Crimson Tide for a 26-23 overtime victory against Georgia in the title contest for the 2017 season.
Tagovailoa entered the NFL as the fifth selection in the 2020 draft. In 2023, Tagovailoa earned Pro Bowl recognition as he led the NFL in passing yards.
“Collaborating with Tua, we aimed to uphold modern American style while honoring his influences,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, the president and CEO of Perry Ellis International. “It’s a distinctive lineup celebrating personal expression and island living.”
