Untold story behind Stephen Curry's 'Nuit Nuit' hoodie at Olympics

Have you ever wondered how Team USA’s Stephen Curry had his “Nuit Nuit” hoodie on tap immediately after crushing French hearts in the gold-medal game of the Paris Olympics last Saturday?

Curry had the merchandise pre-commissioned even before the Games.

According to designer Mike Fogg, Curry’s team approached him in June with the idea for the shirt shortly before the iconic shooter prepared for his maiden Olympics.

Fogg revealed a shipment of the hoodie was sent to Curry’s hotel in Paris at the start of the Games, but nobody knew if he would wear it. Like his timely baskets, the Warriors star waited for the right moment.

“Steph chose the perfect moment, making it all the more iconic,” Fogg told Cllct. “It really shows how calculated he is. It truly felt like a lighting-in-a-bottle moment for all of us. As a designer, you always dream of having your work showcased globally, but this was on another level. Everything aligned perfectly — the game, Steph’s legacy, the cultural significance of Paris, and, of course, his signature “night night” moment, or should I say “Nuit Nuit” moment.”

Indeed. It was apropos on Curry’s part to unveil the hoodie after he drained four threes in the final 2:47 against France, sending the host nation to bed with his signature “night night” celebration.

So, can fans grab the hoodie to commemorate the moment? Sadly, no. According to Fogg, the hoodie was “a personal, custom, creative project” exclusively for Steph to wear at the Paris Games. The designer revealed he’s been bombarded with requests from fans to create a replica shirt.

“It was something uniquely his, meant for that one special moment,” Fogg said. “We had no idea it would go viral to this extent. I’ve received numerous requests, but I’ve been responding that it was a one-of-a-kind creation for the gold medalist himself.”

Of course, it’s only a matter of time before knockoffs of the hoodie start popping up everywhere.
