Warriors secure win in Las Vegas Summer League opener vs. Suns
After rolling through the California Classic at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors made their Summer League debut in Las Vegas on Saturday evening against the Phoenix Suns.
Sophomores Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis headlined Golden State’s Summer League roster, along with California Classic standout Daeqwon Plowden.
Four members of the Warriors’ Summer League squad tallied double-figures in scoring, with Plowden leading the way again with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field with three made triples.
Podziemski notched 16 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field with a trio of made 3-pointers to go along with seven boards and six assists in 26 minutes. Jackson-Davis added a near-double-double with 10 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes.
The Warriors rolled to another Summer League win, 90-73. The Warriors will be back on the floor in Las Vegas on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls at 7 p.m. PT.
