Since becoming the Baltimore Ravens’ starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson has entrenched himself as one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. He’s delivered highlight-reel plays and incredible games. Along the way, he’s also delivered impeccable stretches of dominance, and it started in 2019.

2019: Weeks 1-4

Jackson became the Ravens’ starting quarterback his rookie season, but elevated his game to new heights in 2019, and nothing proved that more than his first game, dominating the Miami Dolphins by going 17-of-20 passing for 324 yards and five touchdowns. But in the three weeks that followed, Jackson continued to perform.

W4 L 24 34 247 3 2 4 9 66 0 0

The Ravens finished the stretch with a disappointing 2-2 record, but Jackson finished with 64.9% completion for 1,110 yards, 10 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also contributed 36 rushing attempts for 238 yards and a touchdown.

This stretch is undeniable, but there are arguably better ones of his career. In fact, his four-game stretch later that season—which wound up winning him AFC Offensive Player of the Month in November—was better.

2019: W9-12

What may be Jackson’s best four-game stretch started in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals, scorching them on the ground for 124 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 163 passing yards and a touchdown. Then, it continued for the next three weeks.

The Ravens went 4-0 and Jackson finished with 71% completion for 777 yards, 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also gashed teams on the ground with 41 attempts for 300 yards and three touchdowns. That’s 16 touchdowns with zero turnovers and 1,077 combined yards.

2020: W14-17

A year later, Jackson found his brilliance once more. Down the stretch, with the team clutching a 7-5 record, they needed to beat two divisional opponents and make their playoff push a reality. And it all started in a high-octane 47-42 win in an infamous game against the Cleveland Browns.

Rattling off four-straight wins culminated in finishing second in the AFC North division race. And Jackson ended with 66.32% completion for 702 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He added another 336 rushing yards on 43 carries, three touchdowns and one fumble lost.

2021: W3-6

By season’s end, Jackson was on the sidelines dealing with injury in 2021. But early in the season, the Ravens were racking up wins and he was putting up numbers, albeit not as dominant as other times in the touchdown department so much as airing it out for big yardage.

W5 W 37 43 442 4 0 2 14 62 0 1
W6 W 19 27 167 1 2 3 8 51 0 0

The shine of this stretch isn’t as bright as some of the others. But, Jackson was airing it out more, with 68.1% completion for 1,212 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. His rushing stats totaled 36 attempts for 199 yards and a fumble lost. And though this one isn’t as incredible as others, it’s still a fantastic stretch many others around the league would hope to see.

2022: W1-4

Getting back into the swing of things after missing the back-half of the 2021 season had Jackson swinging for the fences in 2022.

W4 L 20 29 144 1 2 2 11 73 0 0

The offense was electric to begin the 2022 campaign. The defense had a rocky start, which ultimately led to their 2-2 record during this stretch. But, Jackson was back to his productive self, throwing 64.9% completion for 893 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions, while rushing 37 times for 316 yards and two touchdowns.

2023: W14-17

The recency bias is here as this one can be argued his best four-game stretch due to knowing their opponents. The final stretch of the season for the 2023 Ravens featured the playoff worthy Los Angeles Rams, surging Jacksonville Jaguars, going cross-country for a Christmas night fight against the top-ranked San Francisco 49ers followed by a date with the one-seed contending Miami Dolphins. Pundits were expecting a 2-2 record. A 3-1 record would be sufficient if things broke their way. Instead, Jackson and the Ravens went 4-0 in dominant fashion.

Along with their perfect record, Jackson finished with 64.2% completion for 1,060 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. He added another 247 rushing yards on 36 carries.

At least once per year, Jackson’s found his flow state for a four-game stretch that few can mimic. In 2024, with a second year under Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken and paired with a healthy receiving unit and new battering ram running back Derrick Henry, it’s when, not if, he’ll find that mojo next season.

Until then, which four-game stretch do you have as Jackson’s best?
