Your Miami Dolphins Wish List

Tony Nguyen | Miami Dolphins

In a post earlier this week, I discussed how the Miami Dolphins front office has been busy during this offseason. We signed many free agents, drafted some other players, and even added some undrafted free agents. The team also gave two of its top players new deals. I then asked the following question based on what else does the front office need to do before the season begins?

What moves, if any, would you like to see from the front office of the Miami Dolphins before the season begins?

Below are some of your answers and thoughts on the question of the day-

Call_for_the_Priest’77 would still like to see two team units upgraded with starter-level players.

We need a solid OL starting investment and another starting edge caliber dude now that Barrett wimped out.

Isaiah Wynn is going to be a concern throughout the year and unlike the Lamm/Stead duo at LT, we don’t have insurance for Wynn. I would much prefer a healthy Connor Williams back in the fold over Brewer at center. If that’s still possible, that would be a good way to go. Brewer could then try for a guard spot, depth role (with restructuring) or be traded out for gains or draft capital / cap relief. If not Con W, then another solid competitor would really help out.

Our defense needs to be good starting week #1. We can’t wait for Chubb and Phillips to return. Ogbah and Campbell are not premiere full time rushers anymore. Campbell might even be spotted at DT primarily. The rookies (Chop and Kamara) are doing well according to reports but it would be irresponsible to rely on them full time before they have taken their first pro game snap when we are on the ever elusive threshold of playoff relevance.

Dolfriend has the same idea I did: Save now so we don’t have to make as many drastic moves again next offseason. For context, the Dolphins are already nearly 44.4 million over the projected 2025 cap. It’s a number that may go down following camp cuts, but still a lot of money!

Roll it over to offset some of the cap for next year. We have to start paying down this cap, not just keep kicking the can down the road until we are in a Saints scenario. Keep the team fiscally healthy for the long term now that we have so much star power.

sdphinsfan wants to see Holland get his new deal.

What else needs to be done? Probably Holland, but let’s see what happens on the injury front during camp.

dedstrk316 says to bring the trophy home to Miami!

What else needs to be done? Win the Super Bowl.

SlayerNation1 says Tua needs adequate insurance from a quarterback who can actually operate the offense.

Get an actual QB2 who an run McDs offense. A motley collection of QB3s won’t work.

You now have invested in a very expensive luxury named Tua.

Expensive items require adequate insurance. O-Line also falls in that category of insurance products.

jmworacle says the team needs to upgrade the offensive guard position.

I recently posted my prediction the Tua would sign with another team. I was wrong. What needs to be done is to bolster the offensive guard position. Even the great Tom Brady was reduced to mortal status when he was pressured up the middle. Also needs to develope a thunder rushing attack to go with the lightening especially in cold weather games.

dnordel is another who wants to see Holland get his deal.

As bad as I want a magic pro bowl OL – we should lock up our guys long term – starting with Holland

SuperG! also wants a deal for Holland, but with the future in mind, cap-wise.

It would be great to lock up Holland, but somehow Grier will have to figure out the 2025 salary cap situation now that Tua’s been paid. I imagine they will have to restructure him next season.

OTC – click on the 2025 tab and the Dolphins are $44M over.

Spotrac is worse showing the Dolphins $71M over the cap.

Tony latino wants an upgrade at guard.

Quality guard, especially with Wynn already being hurt

finfanfromsiam wants Grier to sort through the end-of-camp NFL cuts for upgrades to both lines.

We could use a Olinemen and Dlinemen after team cutdowns.

It seems as if a lot of our fanbase wants Grier to get on both signing Holland to his new deal and upgrading the offensive line. I assume that Holland will get his deal. As to the O-Line, I can’t remember the last time that our line was solid across the board. Maybe one day! Thank you to everyone who took the time to read the post and answer the question of the day!
